Proclaiming the hope of the resurrection and the new creation life found in Christ.
The Eighth Day Initiative exists to point people to the greater hope found in Jesus Christ. “The One who rose on the eighth day and offers eternal life to all who believe.”
We believe the story of Scripture does not end at the cross or the empty tomb. It continues into the Eighth Day: the day of resurrection, restoration, and everlasting life.
To proclaim the hope of the Eighth Day, to encourage believers to live in the light of the resurrection, and to invite others into the story of God’s redemptive plan.
Through teaching, community, and simple acts of faith, we seek to help people see that the best is still ahead. “Because of what Christ has already done.”
The Eighth Day Initiative is based in Houston, Texas, with a heart for serving and helping communities throughout the Houston area.
Through community outreach, we seek to put our faith into action by helping people in practical ways, building relationships, serving those in need, and bringing hope to our communities. Our goal is not only to speak about the love of Jesus Christ, but to demonstrate that love through service, compassion, and action.
We believe that when people come together to serve others, communities can become stronger, lives can be changed, and people can see the hope of Christ through what we do.
His name is Kristopher Detles. He’s currently a 17-year-old who was born in Portland, Oregon, and later moved to Houston, Texas.
His faith is in Jesus Christ, and he is here to serve as an evangelist and share the hope of the Gospel with others. He believes God has called him to reach people, serve communities, and point others toward Jesus Christ.
Eventually, he hopes to become a pastor and, one day, have his own church. His vision is for that church to be a place where people from all backgrounds and walks of life can come together as one community for one purpose: to serve God, grow in faith, and serve others.
He wants to help build a community where people know they are welcomed, valued, and loved, and where the name of Jesus Christ is at the center of everything we do.
Follow the journey and stay connected.
